How To Reboot A Scangun

SCANGUN REBOOT


With the gun in the charging station and connected to your PC by a USB printer cable. The following steps ensure that there is enough delay for the laser to register the barcodes correctly:

1. Double click DataWedge and go into Basic Configuration settings.

2. Choose #2 (Keystroke Output)

3. Choose #3 (InterChar delay) and set to 35 KPMS

4. Click Enter

5. Click 0 twice, then click OK twice

The following clear all the extra Icons from the gun’s “desktop” and re-boot the remote desktop connection to Globetek.

1. On your PC, navigate to ‘My Computer’ (‘This PC’ in Windows 10) and locate the scan gun. It will be called “Compact” and be listed under ‘Portable Devices’, double click it

2. There are 4 choices in the pop-up, choose the un-named one by double clicking

3.  Go into the Windows folder, then the Desktop folder.

4. Delete all desktop icons but DataWedge and MyDevice.  Leave window open.

5. Hit Windows+E to open a new explorer window.

6. Go to H:\Scan_Gun and drag a copy of Scangun.RDP from that folder to the open Gun folder’s Desktop.

If scan gun is stuck (so when you tap the icon on the home screen, it won't open the software) perform a soft reset (blue + yellow + esc while gun is powering on) which seems to fix it.
