How to Connect to FileMaker, Manage Users, and add Hosts

Follow these steps to create a user inside a filemaker database

1. Open filemaker

2. Navigate to File > Hosts > Show hosts

3. Select the server you want to connect to and login with the admin account

4. Once logged in you may see multiple databases, if you dont it means you dont have an account for them all. You will need to create an account for all the DBs.

5. Select the DB and login as an admin

6. Navigate to the security tab as shown below:

 7.  Select the user your wish to manage or click on + New for a new user:

If you need to add a host, you can follow the steps below:

1. Open FileMaker Pro, click File > Hosts > Show Hosts…

2. When the Hosts window pops up, click the + fill it with following info

Aurora:

Host's Internet Address: 10.4.1.50

Favorite Host Name: dragoon

Bristol:

Host's Internet Address: 10.2.1.42

Favorite Host Name: filemaker2

3. Then click Save.

4. Check on ‘Always permit connection to this host’ and click the Connect button as below

5. Type your Account Name and Password.
